Which digital handheld recorder do you recommend and how much it costs? We recommend digital recorders that are very easy to use and are competitively priced from Olympus (model: DS330), Sony, Panasonic, Voice IT, Uher (model: DH10), etc. Their prices range from approximately $120 to $350. |

How does Toll Free Dictation Service work? Just call a telephone number (We will provide toll free number and simple instruction document) and dictate. Hang up the phone once you are done with dictation. The system will automatically send us the voice file through FTP site and we will send you the transcripts through same FTP and inform you through email. |

Is there a limit to how many times a day I can call in? You may dictate as many time as you want from anywhere at any time using a touch-tone phone as well as cell phone. |

Can I dictate with a digital recorder and transmit over the Internet on an ftp site that is secure and encrypted? We provide separate secure FTP ID for each client and that's why only you will have access to allocated FTP site, which will be password protected and SSL enabled. |

Can I use your dictation System and FTP simultaneously? Yes, you can use dictation system and FTP as per your comfort. We will keep separate record for both and bill you accordingly. Few of our clients are using our service in this manner. |

Do you provide training to our staff to get going with the FTP setup? Yes, we do provide training to your staff on how to use FTP. 20 minutes is all that it takes for a person with minimal knowledge of computer. |

Do you keep all the completed files on a private FTP site for me only? Yes (One client one FTP site). |

How long do you keep our dictation and charts on FTP? We keep it for a month. |

What Legal transcription quality measures you have in place? We have very good team of experienced proof readers, editors and transcriptionists. After the dictations are transcribed by our transcriptionists, the Editors check for errors, omissions, formatting, etc., and Proof reader ensures expected quality of work before they send files back to client. |

How do you maintain security of information? All users (lawyers, administrators and secretaries) can access the server only through a secure login ID and password. This ensures that no unauthorized access is possible to our clients' files. Additionally each of our secretaries is recruited based on stringent interview norms and comprehensive background checks. |

Are the documents edited? Yes, each document is reviewed and edited for unresolved blanks. Occasionally there is an unresolved blank in a report and it is usually a local term, name or place. Our editors do their best to resolve blanks but occasionally they are not successful. Any unresolved blank will be marked on the transcribed reports so that the client can review the specific report prior to printing or storage. These unresolved blanks normally decrease as your transcriptionists and editor gets acquainted to your account. |

Do you store backups of files I record using the telephone dictation option? These files are kept in our system for 30 days and then deleted. However, you can retrieve these files from the server and save them to your PC at any time before the system deletes them. |

Can you transcribe cassette tapes? Yes. You can send them. We will send the finished documents via email and return your tapes in the mail. |

Is digital recording really better than analog tapes? Yes, Digital recordings are clearer than analog audio tapes and can be easily duplicated. When you send us your dictation through our servers, you always have a backup to keep for yourself. Analog tapes get lost, wear out and break, too. |

Can I fax my handwritten and "cut-and-paste" drafts to be typed in final form? Yes. You can eFax your documents to us. |
